To the Parents

Dear Parent or Guardian,

I look forward to working with you and your child this new school year. I am excited to have your child in my English II classroom and believe that by working together we can have a successful year.

You are welcome to email, telephone, or schedule a meeting any time you have a question regarding your child’s progress. I will also keep you informed by sending home printed 3-week progress reports as well as graded material. I also strongly encourage you to talk with your child about how he or she is doing in our English II class.

It is important that you and your child are informed of my standards for classroom behavior so that we all know what is expected. I will be sure to send a syllabus containing classroom rules and expectations. If any difficulties at school should arise, I will notify you. I also hope that you will advise me if at any time your child has a problem – whether academic, social, or emotional. Should your child become discouraged or fearful about school, please communicate with me so that we can discover the cause of the problem.

In order to maintain open communication, I ask that you email me providing your name and best mode(s) of communication (home phone, cell phone, work phone, email, etc.).

I consider it a privilege to be your child's teacher this year, and look forward to meeting each of you.

Sincerely,

Mihir Parekh
English II Teacher
